One of my healing heroes, Ron Schmid has written many powerful words about the wonders of raw, pasture-fed milk, and is backed up by the wisdom of the Ayurvedic healers, the wise traditions of Scandinavian Europe, and hundreds of healing scriptures throughout time and distance.
Weston A. Price too wrote of the curative powers of real, whole milk and its many applications in health and healing throughout the worlds cultures.
It’s partly out of curiosity, partly out of responsibility and partly out of the manifestation of my own healing that I’ve decided to embark on an extended pasture-fed, ‘real’ milk fasting process. The ancient Ayurvedic physicians called this a ‘kulpa’, and it was seen as the starting point for the healing journey. Returning to ‘mothers milk’ was the first in a series of steps, designed from the knowledge that real milk has extraordinary cleansing an rejuvenative powers, and that its sustenance creates true healing, beginning at the very core of our bones and moving outward, gently through the physical, emotional and spiritual layers of our being, resulting in true healing and purification that radiates from within.
We know too of the curative powers of raw honey, the panacea that has now, finally, returned even to the hospital where it has been discovered that no man made application can even attempt to rival its antibiotic and nutritive powers.
Is it any wonder to us that milk and honey are referred to throughout the great scriptures of the world as ‘ambrosia’ or ‘manna’: the food of the gods? In a scroll written in Ancient Hebrew at the British Museum, another of my healing heroes, Don Tolman, translated this:
‘It is ambrosia, a mix of milk and honey, that when taken in abundance shall build ones constitution even if it is hanging by a thread. It shall build a strong mental atmosphere, develop the brain, prolong and extend ones life and help overcome the desire for unhealthful foods. There is pure life in milk, in honey, unless of course you cook it and destroy it, as is the way of the world. Ambrosia shall strengthen ones vitals, vigor and endurance. Milk and honey equate to life and health and joy’
And so, it is in this spirit that I begin a rather grand experiment, to test the wisdom of our great healers and truly nourish myself from within.
